The yards claim that the patented S-design is far superior in terms of fuel efficiency has already been proven but this is a special milestone for the shipyard :
When 59 S-design “Ocean Camp” reached Gibraltar last week after travelling 1250 nautical miles, her total fuel consumption had been 3325 liters, 83 % of her total fuel capacity of 4000 ltrs.
This translates to 2.66 liters per nautical mile during a trip that included a crossing of the Biscay Gulf and 7 Beaufort wind with 4 meter waves heading down from the southwest coast of the UK.
Apart from the low fuel consumption, the NG59 impressed her owners on their maiden trip with cruising in utmost stability and comfort. The picture below of a relaxed captain in the middle of a jungle of waves speaks for itself.
In the meantime, the ‘Ocean Camp’ has reached Ibiza on her trip from Amsterdam to the Cannes Yachting Festival.
